Abstract
The purpose of this study is to analyze the unstable labor status of re-employed middle-aged wage workers and to identify the factors affecting them. Employment instability, income instability, and social security instability were organized in lower dimensions to closely understand unstable labor, and the effects of independent variables such as demographic, economic, life-long job characteristics, and labor market characteristics were analyzed. A total of 520 middle-aged people aged 50 to 64 who responded that they were working in wages in the 8th year of Korean Retirement and Income Study after retirement from their main jobs were extracted, and logistic regression analysis was conducted using SPSS 22.0.
As a result of the analysis, first, in the case of employment instability, gender, education level, health status, public transfer income, employment status of major jobs in life, occupations, workplace size, and number of job transitions were factors that affected. Second, in the case of income instability, gender, total assets, occupations, workplace size, and number of job transitions were found to be factors affecting. Third, in the case of social security instability, marital status, health status, total assets, employment status of life¡¯s main jobs, workplace size, and region were found to be factors affecting.
This study is meaningful in that it clearly revealed the situation by paying attention to the middle-aged re-employed who are experiencing unstable employment types, low-wage labor, and lack of social protection beyond the discussion on the employment rate. Through the above research results, it is expected to derive effective support strategies for middle-aged people to continue stable work in the reemployment field.
